Wolverine Football falls to the La Conner Braves

Submitted by John Stimpson.

The Friday Harbor Wolverines took advantage of several formidable obstacles, including Connor Haines, No. 14 and Chris Gustafson, No. 24 to stop the La Conner Braves on September 17, victory 63-0. This was the first district game.

Both teams faced wind speeds of up to 40 miles per hour. With the remaining 2:42 in the 1st quarter, the field lights flickered. The game continued in the semi-darkness until the time ran out in the first quarter. There was a game delay of several minutes while the electrical problem was found and the lights turned back on. Fortunately, the previously forecast rain did not occur until minutes after the end of the game.

The next game will be on Friday, September 24th at the Kings School in Seattle at 4:30 pm against the Seton Catholics from Vancouver, Washington. A game without district borders.
