Everett Glenvar “EG” Willard Jr., Colonel, USAF (retired), age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 29, 2021 while visiting his family in Myrtle Beach. SCEG was a loving husband to Karen, the proud father of Ashley. big brother of Beth and a very beloved friend.

EG was born on July 13, 1954 in Blacksburg, Virginia, to the late Everett G. and Elizabeth K. Willard. Following in the athletic footsteps of his father, Everett “Feets” Willard Sr., EG was also an eminent soccer, basketball, track and field player at Blacksburg High School.

A 1977 graduate of Virginia Tech, EG received his JD from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1982 and his Masters of Laws (LLM) from George Washington University Law School in 1994.

EG proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, and upon retirement served as Chief, Environmental Law, Air Combat Command. EG’s career with the Air Force has garnered numerous awards and recognitions for his ability to solve complex problems with a fair and balanced approach. After serving 22 years with the USAF, EG continued his career as Vice President, Federal Services for MWH Global in Denver, Colorado.

EG’s greatest contribution was the many friendships he had across the country and throughout his life, as well as an exemplary and prestigious game of golf. Having played on four Va State Championship golf teams while at Va Tech, EG continued to excel at the game he loved so much his entire life, and his favorite fours are undoubtedly his beloved Blacksburg Boys.

Alongside his best friend and loving wife for 16 years, Karen Kipper Willard from Westminster, Colorado; his daughter S. Ashley Willard and son-in-law Justin Mathis of Oxford, Miss. EG survived by Sister Beth W. Fife of Myrtle Beach, SC; Nephews, Rhett and Kyle Fife and beloved cousins. He was previously deceased by his brother-in-law, Tommy Fife.

A well-played life is celebrated in Westminster, Colorado, overlooking a beautiful fairway. The burial with military burial honors at Arlington National Cemetery will follow in January 2022. In memory of EG, contributions can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund at www.JDRF.org, an organization whose research is vital to Ashley.
