KING COUNTY CUMULATIVE NUMBERS FROM FRIDAY:

137,785 people tested positive – 4,138 more than a week ago (4,946 in West Seattle, up 189)
7,463 people were hospitalized – 174 more than a week ago (230 from West Seattle, plus 8)
1,776 people have died – 23 more than a week ago (69 in West Seattle, unchanged)

Vaccination rate:

77.9% of King County’s residents 12 and older have completed their vaccination series (up 0.6% over the last week).

PANDEMIC NEWS

Mask ordering will be expanded – On Tuesday (September 7th) there is a mask requirement for outdoor events in King County if more than 500 people are expected, as announced last Thursday.

Provisional agreement of civil servants – There have been rumors of labor unrest as a result of the governor’s vaccination mandate for state employees, but that was apparently prevented by this preliminary agreement.

Tracking COVID in SchoolPublic Schools in Seattle has a dashboard that promises to show case numbers by region – but the first weekly update of the year is not yet available.
