Wayne A. Holcomb, 59 | Daily Inter Lake

Wayne A. Holcomb, 59, born July 18, 1961 in Boise, Idaho, passed away quickly and unexpectedly with his wife and sons by his side.

He grew up in Portland and Teako, Washington. He met his first wife, Shelly Johnson, in Teako; They had two children together, Jessica and Nicole Holcomb. He then met his second common law wife, Laurie Hanson, in Portland. They had two children together, Marja and Avalon Holcomb. Wayne then met his soul mate and third wife Patricia “Patty” Powell-Holcomb in Cottage Grove, Oregon. They moved to Northern California where they had their son Patrick Holcomb. They eventually moved to Libby, Montana, and eventually Kalispell, where they have lived for the past 20 years. Wayne and Patty first adopted sons, Benjamen and Gavin Guinard. They later adopted the last two children, Jonathan and Natalie Holcomb.

Wayne worked at the Pathways Treatment Center for 10 years. He then worked at the Flathead Chemical Dependency Center in Kalispell after graduating with a degree in substance abuse counseling. He commuted to Polson, where he practiced at the Western Montana Chemical Dependency Center. A year ago Wayne and Patty bought the Hidden Key Escape Games in Whitefish, where they opened Kalispell’s first Rage Room and entertained hundreds of people. Wayne loved riding his Harley; He could be noticed with one arm and the plates that said Onewing.

He is owned by his children Patrick Holcomb and Allison King of Columbia Falls, Marja and Avalon Holcomb of Portland, Jessica Holcomb of San Francisco, Nicole Holcomb of Reno, Nevada, Ben and Christine Guinard of Columbia Falls, Gavin Guinard of Kalispell and survives Johnathan and Natalie of Kalispell. It is also supported by siblings Lloyd Holcomb from Libby, Mike and Jenny, John and Shilo, Matila Holcomb from Vancouver, Washington, Diana Rodriguez from Boise, Sherry Brue from Libby, Lauren Hunter from Oklahoma, Andy and Sarah Hunter from Merrimack, New, survived Hampshire, Bredon, and Tammy Rowell of Newman Lake, Washington; and brother-in-law, Richard Powell of Chowchilla, California, and JB and Christine Powell of Oilvehurst, California.

Before Wayne died, his parents George Holcomb, Rose Nissen and Betty Miner, mother-in-law Patsy Powell and sister Shauna Hunter died.

Services are held on Monday, May 31, Memorial Day. Tour runs from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., then 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. Latter-day Saints’ Church of Jesus Christ, 1380 Whitefish Stage, Kalispell. Lunch will follow at 2 p.m. at the Hidden Key Escape Games, 5790 Hwy. 93 pp., Whitefish. Lanterns are released in memory of him. The family welcomes friends and co-workers. If you would like to attend lunch, please bring a dish.

Wayne’s wife Patty and son Patrick will escort Wayne in his raised truck to his final resting place next to his mother-in-law at Homelid Biggs Cemetery in Homedown, California, where they will hold a burial ceremony.
