First-placed Everett (58-44) moved up two games before the Indians (56-46). Eugene (58-45) defeated Tri-City 6-1 and was half a game behind.

It was a single game to bottom out on the seventh, but emergency helper Jordan Sheffield – on a rehab assignment from the Colorado Rockies – was roused on his second pitching appearance of the season.

Sheffield recorded only two outs in the seventh, allowing four runs on three hits and one walk. He allowed two home runs with two runs – for Labrada and Justin Lavey to 8-2.

The Indians took two runs in the top of eighth place on RBI hits from Isaac Collins and Grant Lavigne to cut the deficit in half, but Labrada went far from savior Jared Biddy in the bottom half to take the lead to 10-4 to increase.

Everett took a 2-0 lead in the third game against Indian starter Helcris Olivarez. Labrada had an RBI single and scored a double from Joseph Rosa.

Spokane equalized in the fourth when Brenton Doyle started his 16th homer of the season, a shot from two runs and fourth in his last six games.

Everett broke the sixth round tie on Andy Thomas’ solo home run against Olivarez and then opened things up in the seventh.

Olivarez (4-9) allowed three runs with five hits and one walk with seven strikeouts. He threw 59 of his 91 pitches for strikes.
