Veterans Coffee in Randle to Continue Assistance Talks With Leaders

By The Chronicle staff

On the first Thursday of the month at 8 am, the Tall Timber Restaurant and Lounge in Randle hosts coffee and breakfast for veterans.

On Thursday, May 5, the veterans breakfast will be the third in a series related to veterans assistance. Lewis County Commissioner Lee Grose has been attending the series, along with representatives from US Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler’s office.

“This is the third meeting focused on finding a way to provide good health care for veterans in Lewis County,” stated a news release from Tall Timber.

A representative from US Sen. Maria Cantwell’s office is also set to be there on May 5.

“What has prompted this effort is that the VA Clinic in Chehalis/Centralia was closed unexpectedly. The new facility is in Olympia, creating further travel for veterans. There is no other facility between Olympia and Vancouver, Washington,” stated the release.

For more information, call Jack Kerr at 360-496-1124. Kerr and his wife Kathy are the veteran hosts of the monthly breakfast.
