Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA announces the 2021/22 Symphonic Season

The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra USA announces its 43rd concert season in a triumphant expected return to the live audience.

Classical music lovers can look forward to guest artists such as violin virtuoso Rachel Barton Pine, Broadway star Liz Callaway, legendary pianist Alexander Toradze and many more. Some programs for the 2021/22 season, like the brilliant Korngold Violin Concerto, include long-awaited rescheduling of performances interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, while other concerts consist of original programs specially designed for that return to personal performance were. This season also marks the full return of music director Maestro Salvador Brotons, who could only travel to the US from his home in Barcelona to conduct the final concert of the 2020/21 season.

“When the COVID-19 shutdowns began in early 2020, we decided to continue a never-before-tried, fully virtual season and deliver seven symphony concerts as previously planned while we make the necessary adjustments to the repertoire,” said VSO Executive Director Igor Shakhman . “The first-class virtual experience that our team achieved has enabled us to reach new audiences around the world. Along with the plan to bring visitors back into the auditorium in the fall, we have decided to have live streams should be offered at the same time. “

Guests have the opportunity to attend concerts live or virtually for a ticket price. In the event that the number of spectators is limited, those who have purchased a season ticket will have priority over personal participation. Due to the unpredictability of pandemic trends, the VSO will adjust the security precautions of COVID in the concert hall as concerts approach.

Each pair of symphonic concerts is performed at the Skyview Concert Hall in Vancouver, Washington, with Saturday concerts at 7 p.m. and Sunday concerts at 3 p.m. The live streams will be broadcast simultaneously on Pacific Time, with special exclusive live stream video programming prior to the concert.
