Two men hurt in apartment fire south of Everett

A total of 16 residents were displaced by the early morning fire in the Hanger 128 apartments.

EVERETT – Two men were injured and 16 residents were displaced after an early morning fire in an apartment south of Everett.

People reported seeing flames in the three-story building on the 13000 block on Eighth Avenue W around 3:40 a.m. The two men who were injured were in a unit on the second floor, according to the South County Fire. One man suffered from smoke exposure and was taken to a hospital. The other man had minor injuries that were treated by firefighters and rescue workers.

There were no other injuries.

Only the unit on the second floor where the fire started and the balcony of the apartment above had fire damage. Three neighboring units had smoke and water damage, according to the South County Fire.

Everett Fire and Snohomish County Regional Fire & Rescue helped respond. Support 7 and the Red Cross responded to help the residents displaced by the fire.

The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the cause of the fire and estimated the loss of property to be $ 75,000.
