Top247 CB Jasiah Wagoner breaks down his top seven

Spanaway (Wash.) Lake cornerback Jasiah Wagoner named his top seven on Friday afternoon.

And the four-star has a wide array of schools.

Wagoner named a top seven of, alphabetically, Cal, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Oregon, Penn State, Texas and Washington.

He broke them down with 247Sports.

California: “With Cal, I have established relationships with the coaches there and can see myself being developed under them.”

Notre Dame: “Notre Dame has a top tier education and football program. It’s always appealing to have a defensive minded head coach (Marcus Freeman).

Oklahoma: “Coach (Jay) Valai has a coaching style that intrigues me and can bring the best out of me. What stood out about my visit was how they seemed to be actively pushing to become a better program, which speaks a lot to the coaches, because they already are a top program in the country,

Oregon: “Coach Dan Lanning has the Oregon program on an upward trend. Coach Meat (Demetrice Martin) is recruiting me and we had a good relationship when he was at Colorado.

Penn State: “Penn State is a top tier program and they were one of my first offers. Coach Terry Smith was the coach who offered me from Penn State. That was my first Big Ten offer so that was big for me.”

Texas: “Texas has a great tradition. What stood out on the visit was how the energy around campus was positive and it seemed like the students embraced us.

Washington: “Washington is the hometown school and they put the most DBs in the league in the Pac-12. “Coach Juice, he’s a good guy. He and coach (Kalen) DeBoer came to my school (in January) and they’re both really nice.”

He has first official visit set for next month, when he’ll head out to South Bend to visit Notre Dame for an official that is set to begin on June 17.

We’ve seen Wagoner at a number of events over the last year, including at the Battle 7v7 in Las Vegas in February, where he was on 247Sports’s top five defense and then a week later, he was named the Alpha Dog for the Battle at the Border 7v7 in Vancouver, Washington. Playing both corner and nickel, Wagoner is always around the ball making a play. He covered every top receiver that his team played in both tournaments and more than held his own. Wagoner is a guy that could line up anywhere on the backend at the next level.

Wagoner is a four-star in the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, checking in as the No. 3 prospect in the state of Washington while 247Sports has him as the No. 13 cornerback nationally in 2023.

He has been selected to play in the 2023 All-American Bowl in San Antonio in January.
