SPOKANE, Wash – Motorists continue to take risks when they run over red lights in Spokane. In July, these cameras caught nearly 2,500 violators.

The Photo Red program sent 2,481 tickets in July. That’s an increase from 1,778 the year before. Last July, however, the stay-home orders were still in effect and there were fewer people on the streets.

Browne and Sprague’s cameras caught most of the people with red lights. 453 tickets came from this intersection.

The next busiest intersection for red light tickets was Division and Sprague. 429 violations were found there.

297 drivers received violations from Third and Freya intersection. 285 people got tickets for red lights at Division and Francis.

In addition to the red light cameras, speed cameras in school zones will switch on again next week when the children go back to school. These cameras track drivers near Lidgerwood, Audubon, Ridgeview, and Willard elementary schools.
