SPOKANE, Wash. – A temporary thermal center at the Spokane Convention Center will close on Sunday.
The Spokane City Thermal Center has helped hundreds keep warm in freezing temperatures and the recent blizzard.
The city of Spokane plans to close its warming center doors on Sunday morning. All guests remaining in the building are asked to leave the building by 8:00 a.m. at the latest
At times over 400 people occupied the warming center at the same time. The city of Spokane offered shelter to those who appeared to have been forced to live in freezing temperatures.
The closure is coming as temperatures are expected to remain in the low to mid 30 range.
