The men’s SSU cross-country skiing takes 19th place at the national championship meeting | Sports

The men’s cross country team traveled across the country to Vancouver, Washington last week to represent Shawnee State University in the NAIA National Championship Cross Country.

The team was able to book a top 20 position in the race and ended up in 19th place. 36 teams and a total of 330 participants took part in the race. Aiden Kammler (SO / Portsmouth, Ohio) was the top finisher for the Bears on the 8 km course in a time of 25: 48.7 and finished 31st. After a strong performance in the race, Kammler received his first All-American Honors of his career.

Jonah Phillips (SO / Chillicothe, Ohio) (26: 13.2, 56th) and Hunter Hoover (SR / Waverly, Ohio) (26: 39.7, 87th) both won the Bears with their top 100 placements in the hard competitive competition help territory. Thrycetone Deckard (SR / Monroe, Ohio) (27: 11.7, 154.), Jacob Nichols (27: 43.5, 215.), Alex Morris (FR / Lucasville, Ohio) (27: 55.2, 233 .) and Aidan Judd (FR / Waverly, Ohio) (27: 55.7, 234.) rounded off today’s race for the Bears.

This was their last cross-country race of the 2021 season. The Bears are looking forward to a successful indoor track season next.
