The Dirt: Wake Up Call Opens in the former Cole’s Coffee Location in Spokane Valley; Zak! Designs plans expansion in Airway Heights

Renovations are currently underway to convert a building formerly inhabited by Cole’s Coffee in Spokane Valley into a new Wake Up Call cafe.

Wake Up Call announced last week on Facebook that it was moving to the 1,344-square-foot space at 3105 N. Pines Road.

Wake Up Call changed the signage outside the building in preparation for the new cafe after a wall sign application was submitted to the city last week.

Wake Up Call opened its first location on Dishman-Mica Road in the Spokane Valley in 2004.

In addition to the new Pines Road coffee shop, Wake Up Call has nine locations in the Spokane area and one in Coeur d’Alene.

The company also operates a concession car at Gonzaga University and a mobile cafe in a double-decker bus.

Cole’s Coffee closed in June, a month after the Washington State Department of Labor and Industry fined the store more than $ 126,000 for 14 COVID-19 violations.

One of the quotes claimed that the cafe was open to business and had indoor dining even though the state prohibited it.

Community First Properties 9 LLC, of which Perry and Tyler Vinson are chief executives, bought the property in June for $ 549,000, according to the Spokane County Assessor’s Office.
