Surprised by Washington’s favorite Halloween candy in 2022?

We know it’s already been a contentious election season for Washington state. Do we really need one more thing to debate?

Whether you lean Left Twix or Right Twix, it’s time to reveal the results from and accept that Washington state’s favorite candy is…….

The Tootsie Roll Pop.

Really? It’s a classic, sure. But our favourite? Shrug. Here’s how the results shook out: By weight, Washington residents purchased 167,289 pounds of Tootsie Roll Pops, more than any other candy on the shelves. Washington’s runner-up was Salt Water Taffy with 120,982 pounds purchased. Followed by M&Ms at 113,728 pounds.

Washington’s winners veer from America’s overall Top 3, which are: Reese’s, Skittles and then M&Ms.

Other takeaways: Louisiana is the only state to favor Lemonheads. Fellow states that prefer Tootsie Roll Pops like Washington are New Jersey, Tennessee and Utah.

By the way, says Americans are projected to spend $3.1 billion on Halloween candy this year! See the full report here.

Meanwhile, I’ll be over here with my dark chocolate Kit Kats.
