Storm signs forward Cierra Burdick for remainder of season

SEATTLE – The Seattle Storm announced the signing of forward Cierra Burdick for a remainder of the season on Wednesday. As per the team policy, the terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Burdick, a native of Charlotte, North Carolina, originally received a 7-day contract with Storm on July 1, then a second on July 8. She appeared in two games for Seattle that season.

Burdick was originally selected by Los Angeles as the 14th overall pick in the 2015 WNBA draft after a stellar career in Tennessee. She has seen action in 51 games over five seasons, including her two with the Storm this year. Burdick also worked in Atlanta, New York, San Antonio, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Minnesota.

In June, Burdick was named MVP of the Red Bull 3 × 3 National Championship and helped lead the Force 10 team to the national title.

The Storm are in the middle of a five-game road trip, facing New York on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) in the first of two games against Liberty this week.
