Just after 12 pm Aug. 19, Washington State Patrol received calls about a person brandishing a weapon on Interstate 5 near Vancouver, Washington.

Troopers located the vehicle near Vancouver and attempted to pull the car over, but the driver fled, according to Washington State Patrol.

Although they did not chase the car, troopers took down the license plate and learned the car was stolen and involved in two shootings in Portland earlier that week.

Washington State Patrol aircraft tracked the car as it traveled north on Interstate 5 all the way to Auburn, at which point the driver pulled into a Heritage Bank drive-through ATM.

While the suspect was at the ATM, troopers blocked them from leaving the bank and took them into custody without incident, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail on felony eluding and stolen property charges. More charges could be filed as the investigation continues, according to the Washington State Patrol.
