SRHD, Second Harvest offering free cooking classes in January

SPOKANE, Wash. – Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to become a better cook? Well lucky for you, you have the chance to get better at cooking for free in January.

The Spokane Regional Health District and Second Harvest are offering free cooking classes throughout January! These classes are free for anyone to join, especially for people who are receiving food assistance.

These classes include free prepared meals and groceries.

There will be five weeks of classes (two classes a week) during January. The lessons will happen every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the month. Tuesday classes are from 5:30 pm – 7 pm and Thursday classes are from 11:45 am to 1:15 pm

Here is what you can learn to cook through the month of January:

  • January 3 and January 5: Breakfast reboot
  • January 10 and January 12: Soulful Soups
  • January 17 and January 19: Snack workshop
  • January 24 and January 26: Healthy Game Day
  • January 31 and February 2: Comfort foods

The classes are being held at Second Harvest on East Front Ave in Spokane (1234 E. Front Ave.)
