Spokane VA Expands Covid Vaccination to Veterans, Caregivers, and Family Members

Doug Nadvornick from SPR reports.

The Spokane Veterans Administration is expanding its Covid vaccination efforts to include veterans, their caregivers and family members.

The expansion is approved by the recently approved Saves Lives Act.

“You used to have to be enrolled in the VA as a veteran, enrolled in VA health care,” said Bret Bowers, spokesman for VA Spokane. If you’re a US military veteran and want a vaccine, come to the VA in Spokane. Call us.”

The number for Covid vaccination appointments is 509-434-7957 or you can make an appointment on VA Spokane’s Covid page.

According to Bowers, the Saves Lives Act also allows veteran’s carers and spouses to receive vaccinations at least until April.

The VA administers the Moderna vaccine with the exception of a special clinic on April 17 that offers the Johnson and Johnson single-dose vaccine.
