Spokane Parks & Recreation Seeks Community Feedback for the 10 Year Master Plan | news

SPOKANE, Wash. – Spokane Parks & Recreation is creating a roadmap for the next 10 years and would like to hear from the community through a survey.

The aim of the survey is to find out what the community wants from their parks and nature reserves, where they see gaps and how their neighborhood parks can be improved.

The poll is open until Monday August 9th at www.SpokaneParksMasterPlan.org.

“Looking back, we invested in our water centers in 2008, then in Riverfront Park in recent years; This master plan will tell us where to focus our energy and investments over the next 10 years, ”said Garrett Jones, Director of Parks & Recreation for the City of Spokane. “This gives us the opportunity to hear from our community what they want next. How can your neighborhood park be improved, where are there gaps, what would you like to see more of? We want the public to push this plan forward and we’d love to hear from everyone. “

The feedback from the survey will shape the Parks & Recreation master plan. The plan will identify and fill gaps in our parking system and guide the development of parking programs to improve recreational opportunities. The final plan document will guide the focus, direction, and spending of the Parks & Recreation division over the next decade.
