SPOKANE, Washington – Spokane officially has a new flag!

Spokane City Council unanimously adopted the Derek Landers-designed flag in a Monday night session that coincided with Flag Day.

“We are very excited about the unveiling of our new Spokane city flag over City Hall,” said Councilor Kate Burke. “It was a long time coming and we are proud that the artist really captured the essence of Spokane in the design.”

The new flag was chosen from more than 400 other designs commissioned by the Spokane Flag Commission established in 2019.

“We’d like to thank everyone who took part in this process – people who submitted drafts, people who gave comments to the commission, and everyone who voted – for making this new flag possible,” said Joshua Hiler , Chairman of the Spokane Flag Commission.
