Spokane Indians Pregame: Lefty Nick Bush wins the hill against Vancouver

The Spokane Indians (14-20) will host the Vancouver Canadians (20-14) on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the fifth of a six-game High-A West League series at Avista Stadium

Indians: LHP Nick Bush (2-1, 2.86 ERA). The eighth round pick of the Rockies 2018 will make its fifth start of the season. He hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his previous appearances and comes after nine strikeouts in a row.

Canadian: RHP Sam Ryan (0-1, 5.30 ERA). Ryan has jumped back and forth between Vancouver and Double-A New Hampshire this season. In his seven games with the Canadians, he has a 3.46 ERA in 13 innings. This will be his first start to the season after a total of eleven outings.

Cameron Eden hit a triple homer in the first inning and a five breakout in the fifth brought the Vancouver Canadians 9-4 over the Indians in the fourth of a six-game High A West series on Friday.

Indian starter Will Ethridge, who made his high-A debut, allowed seven runs – six earned – over four-plus innings on four hits and two walks with seven strikeouts before leaving with a forearm injury. After homer in the first inning, he was knocked out the next 12 in a row before problems again in the fifth.

The Indians (14-20) broke the shutout in the fifth round after an RBI double from Isaac Collins. Kyle Datres delivered a single out of two runs in the ninth round.
