Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Warns People About Phone Fraud | Messages

SPOKANE, Wash. – The Spokane County Sheriff’s Office continues to receive reports of a fraud spreading around the Spokane area.

The scammers called people claiming they were deputy for the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

They asked a victim to pay over $ 6,000 in gift cards to overturn a warrant.

They told the victim that she could not pay in person and would have to provide the gift card information over the phone.

Law enforcement, courts, or any other government agency will never call in and request gift cards or any other form of payment.
