Spokane Chiefs knock off Everett Silvertips 3-2 in overtime

SPOKANE, Wash. – Nick McCarry scored 10 seconds into overtime to give the Spokane Chiefs a 3-2 win over the Everett Silvertips Wednesday in the WHL.

Chiefs (23-37-5) goalie Mason Beaupit made 32 saves in the win.

Spokane took a 2-1 leading after the opening period, but a Niko Huuhtanen goal early in the second evened things up for the Silvertips.

No other goals would be scored afterwards until McCarry finished things off quickly in the extra frame.

The victory was Spokane’s fourth in a row.

LETHBRIDGE, Alta. — Joe Arntsen scored two goals and added an assist as Lethbridge (30-30-4) crushed Saskatoon (36-26-4) 6-1. The victory was the Hurricanes’ third straight. All seven of the game’s goals were scored in the third period.

PRINCE GEORGE, BC — Colton Dach and Pavel Novak each scored a goal and assisted on two others as Kelowna (39-19-6) extended its win streak to five games with a 4-1 victory over the Cougars. Fischer O’Brien was the lone Prince George (22-38-5) goal-scorer in defeat.
