Southwest Airlines announces new nonstop flights from Spokane to Chicago and Orange County starting June

Daily flights start on June 6th.

SPOKANE, Washington – Southwest Airlines will begin operating daily non-stop flights from Spokane to Chicago and Orange County starting June 6.

The new flights run until September 6th. Flights from Spokane International Airport (GEG) land at John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA) and Chicago Midway International (MDW).

In addition to the new flights, the airline will resume daily, year-round flights from Spokane to Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) on June 6th.

Spokane Airport CEO Ezra Eckhardt said in a press release that the service represents an ongoing commitment to the community.

“This new service gives business and leisure travelers from the Spokane / Coeur d’Alene area easier access to major business centers and popular tourist destinations in Chicago, Southern California and Silicon Valley,” said Eckhardt.

Larry Krauter, CEO of Spokane International Airport, added the statement.

“We have worked with Southwest not only to expand nonstop service to these key markets to meet passenger demand, but also to other parts of the US through their extensive network. San Jose has connections to several cities in Southern California. Chicago offers easy connections to the metropolitan areas of Washington, DC and Boston as well as major cities such as the vacation destinations Nashville, Raleigh, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Buffalo and South Carolina. Said Krauter.

With these additions, Southwest Airlines now offers non-stop flights to eight destinations outside of Spokane. The others are Denver, Las Vegas, Oakland, Phoenix, and Sacramento.
