Some struggling small businesses in Vancouver will have their payments refunded

The city of Vancouver is assisting businesses that have been adversely affected by the outbreak. Some city costs will be refunded, and the initiative has been extended by local officials.

Refunds of business fees are not for everyone. It is aimed for businesses that place a high value on personal customer service; the biggest beneficiaries are restaurants, cafes, entertainment, and gyms.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (Reuters) – The Vancouver City Council has approved an extension of a scheme that recovers costs for some local companies that began early in the pandemic.

This includes restaurants like Java House, which has had a difficult few years.

“You know, it’s hard to say exactly how bad the situation is, because it’s so much worse than I thought it would be possible,” co-owner Lonnie Chandler said.
