Slowly but surely, Seattle Mariners prospect Jarred Kelenic is improving

Earlier in the year, the Seattle Mariners’ potential freshman Jarred Kelenic was one of the favorites for the AL Rookie of the Year title, but that dream quickly ended. When he first appeared in the major leagues, he seemed to be an automatic dropout. Now the Mariners’ outfielder has become a much more viable threat in the line-up.

Jarred Kelenic, the potential Seattle Mariners player and outfielder, is just getting better and better

In the first half of the season (22 games) Jarred Kelenic hit 0.096 and knocked out 26 times. After fans went to Tacoma to hit the update button and make some technical changes, fans were hoping for a new version of the offspring.

Jarred played well in Tacoma, but it didn’t result in instant success in Seattle. In July, he reached 0.154 in 14 games. Last month he hit 0.196 in 27 games. Jarred Kelenic hit 0.255 in 14 games yesterday morning. Of these 14 hits, he scored five home runs and two doubles.

The young outfielder has now increased his home run to 12 and his overall strike average to 0.171, which seemed almost impossible in his first month in Major League Baseball.

Not only has his batting average increased over time, but various stats also show increases. In July, Kelenic’s hard-hit rate was 23.3%. In August it was 27.5% and in September 36.8%. The Wisconsin native has also improved his wOBA, wRC +, BABIP, and OBP. Strikeouts are still a problem as it is currently around 30%.

No all-star numbers for Jarred Kelenic, but promising

The fans expected a lot more from Jarred Kelenic, but the biggest advantage of mine is his adaptability. Although it took him a while to learn the rules of pitching in the major league, progress is progress. He is still 21 years old and I believe in him very much.

About a month ago I thought he could end the season with 15 home runs, 15 steals, and a batting average of 0.225. Now he has 12 homers. It’s going to be an exciting end to the season, but honestly I’m more excited about next season and how Jarred Kelenic grows this off-season.
