Seattle’s hottest day on record; three-digit heat for 3 days in a row breaks another record

In parts of WA, temperatures are reaching three-digit numbers again

June 28, 2021 is now the hottest day on record in Seattle. The National Weather Service said its Sea-Tac station reached 107 degrees on Monday afternoon.

Preliminary high temperatures at 5:00 p.m. showed several areas of 110 degrees including Tacoma, Bremerton, Shelton, and Kelso. Vancouver, Washington and Portland, Oregon reached 115 degrees.

The previous all-time record was 104 at SeaTac, which was recorded just the day before on Sunday.

Here is a card with the maximum temperatures on Sunday. The all-time record set the day before yesterday was 103 on July 29, 2009.

This is new territory and these forecast highs could get even hotter. Basically, it’s a very, VERY HOT day! The hottest in history – by far!

Sea-Tac reached 100 degrees before noon on Monday. This is the first time that we have reached three-digit temperatures for three days in a row.

The National Weather Service has extended the excessive heat warning until 11 p.m. tomorrow evening

Tomorrow we’re starting to cool off. The coast will have morning clouds that could invade Olympia before retreating in the late morning. In the afternoon we will have full sunshine again and will stop at around 90 degrees. It’s still very hot. Our normal high is 74. But it will be about 20 degrees cooler than today.

The rest of the week and through the 4th weekend of July we have this lovely combination of morning clouds with afternoon sun and heights in the 80s. Still above normal but I’m taking it after hitting 111 in Seattle!

It’s more than a gasping tongue day for the Pet Walk Forecast. Going to the ocean beach is a good idea for our furry friends!
