Richard Donald Bollman, 88, from Hollidaysburg, passed away on Friday. He was born in Everett to the late Meryl D. Bollman and Nettie M. (Bennett) Bollman.

On June 25, 1955, he married Ella M. (Klotz) Bollman in Winchester, Virginia, who died on May 23, 2019.

Richard is survived by his children: Roger L. Bollman and Mrs. Virginia (Whitsel) from Hollidaysburg, Debra A. Dey and husband Steve from Altoona, Tom E. Bollman and Mrs. Sue (Eckenrod) from Lakemont, Margaret “Peg” Blackie and husband Gearge from Altoona; and a brother, Marlin “Pete” Bollman and Mrs. Dorothy from Everett. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and many loving great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews and their families.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded by two sisters, Shirley J. Bollman and a baby sister; and six brothers: Billy, Paul, Albert, Melvin, Bobby and Vernon Bollman.

After attending school, he worked at New Enterprise Stone and Lime, where he drove trucks for four years.

Richard joined the US Army in January 1953, where he served as part of the Korean Military Advisory Group. He helped train and provide logistical support to the Army of the Republic of Korea.

Richard worked for PennDOT as chief mechanic for many years until he retired.

Richard enjoyed using the equipment while working on the farm and was very proud of it. He also loved sitting on the porch with his wife.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of the Donelson Funeral Home on Main Street, Everett. Rev. John Guyer will officiate.

Friends can call the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021.

The funeral will take place in Ritchey’s Cemetery in Everett.
