Those looking to party are encouraged to plan ahead and get home safely. Half of all fatal accidents in Washington state can be traced back to someone driving under the influence. When drivers are drunk or high, they have big ideas, but not necessarily good ideas. Before the party starts, everyone needs a plan for a safe journey home. Drunk – you will thank yourself. For that matter, you’re going to hangover too. The alternative is to risk a DUI, up to a year in jail, a $ 5,000 fine, a suspended license, an ignition lock installed in your car, legal bills, and lots of awkward conversations.

The hundreds of road deaths and injuries that occur each year in Washington state due to traffic accidents are 100 percent preventable. Target Zero communicators urge you to “Always remember that your choice is to drive soberly and avoid fatalities due to nuisance on our roads. How many deaths from driving disorder are acceptable for your family? Zero!”
