Raccoon breaks into the Spokane family’s car while the family was out of town News

Imagine going out of town for a few days to see your family. You lock your doors and ask your neighbors to keep an eye on you and bring your mail in.

It gives you a piece of spirit while you are away. Liz Cole and her family did that, but when they got home they found that it wasn’t stopping anyone or anything else from breaking into their car.

“I found raccoon prints on the inside and outside of the car, as well as some large tooth marks on the front seat,” said Liz Cole.

In their absence, a local raccoon broke into his car and rummaged around, damaging the interior and exterior of the vehicle.

Raccoons have been known to get into trash cans, crawl up chimneys, and be at home in attics and crawl spaces. A raccoon named Rebecca even lived in the White House during the Coolidge presidency. But wild raccoons, while cute, are dangerous and can be carriers of rabies.

“We got a bit used to being in the city where there wasn’t that much to do with animals. So we realized we had to be a little more careful,” said Cole.

As for raccoon carjacking, Jacob Cole and his wife Liz had a pretty good story to tell.

“They had a great time hearing the story and I videotaped them and showed them the seat,” said Cole.
