Aftershocks

More info

Due to its size, the fault, which was active during the quake, broke along a surface of around 20 km2 (= 8 square miles) as a first-order estimate. The length of the fracture zone was thus probably around 8 km.
Aftershocks typically occur during the days and weeks after the quake at or near the same fault at intervals of up to about twice as long as the fracture zone.
The often largely linear arrangement of the aftershock epicentres encompasses the fracture zone of the main shock (check the map below).
Recorded aftershocks, first at the latest (0 quakes so far, updated frequently):
No aftershocks have been registered so far.
