Police: Woman shot boyfriend during argument at Everett apartment

The woman, 36, was reportedly trying to throw out her boyfriend’s belongings when he tried to stop her.

EVERETT — A woman shot a man in his buttock Sunday night in south Everett in what police described as a “domestic dispute.”

Around 9:25 pm, the man and woman, 36, were in an argument at the BluWater apartment complex at the 11300 block of 19th Avenue SE, said Everett police officer Ora Hamel.

The wounded man told the police the woman was upset and grabbing his personal belongings to throw them out of their shared apartment, according to a police report. He grabbed her to move her away from his stuff. She grabbed a large knife.

The man reportedly then told officers he pulled the woman’s hair to get her away from the knife. A physical fight ensued. As he tried to walk away, she shot him from behind, according to police. He tried to leave the apartment, but fell to the ground.

The Everett woman told police a similar version of events, according to court papers.

He was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett with injuries that were not life threatening.

Police arrested the woman for investigation of first-degree assault. On Monday, she remained in the Snohomish County Jail.
