Police remind public that apple theft is a crime after stopping Everett group from stealing fruit at NH orchard – Boston News, Weather, Sports

LONDONDERRY, NH (WHDH) – Fall is just around the corner, making it a seasonal favorite – picking apples.

Police in Londonderry, NH, are reminding the public that they will have to pay to pick the fruit as apple theft is a crime.

On Tuesday, officials prevented a group from Everett, Massachusetts, from stealing hundreds of dollars in apples from a local orchard, police said.

Officials routinely inspect the town’s orchards and work with their owners to prevent this crime.

Police say apple theft results in thousands of dollars in inventory loss every year.
