SPOKANE, Wash. — A new track and field event is happening in Spokane this weekend.
ParaSport Spokane is hosting the first ever ‘Pine Cone Track & Field Classic’ — welcoming athletes with and without disabilities to compete together in races and field events.
The event is a USA Track & Field sanctioned event.
The Pine Cone Classic is this Sunday, June 5 and will feature Paralympic track and field athletes competing at Ridgeline High School.
ParaSport Spokane says it’s for all track and field athletes — from beginner to professional.
There will be meter races as well as long jump, discus and shotput competitions.
You also don’t have to be a para-athlete to compete.
If you want to take part, the registration deadline is Friday, June 3 at 8 pm
For a list of events and details on the Pine Cone Classic, see this page on the ParaSport Spokane website.
