Peggy Buddin, loving wife and mother and grandmother, died peacefully with the family on September 20, 2021 from this life with her savior.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, her brother-in-law Keith Cowart. She leaves behind her loving husband Steve Buddin from New Braunfels TX, son Michael (Mary), Paige Winans from Vancouver, Washington, grandson Austin. Winans from Milwaukie, Oregon, Sister Ann Cowart from Vancleave MS, and numerous nieces and nephews.

During her schooldays she was a member of the marching band at SD Lee High School and the captain of the majorettes.

After graduation, she began studying at MSCW in Columbus MS on a full scholarship. She has a degree in accounting. She began graduating from Beneke Corp. to use in Columbus. In 1959 she married Larry Winans. She leaves Michael and Paige Winans behind. She moved to San Antonio, TX in 1968. There she met the love of her life, Steve Buddin, at an Arabian Horse Show, where he was the steward and she was the show secretary. They lived in Bulverde TX for a while and later moved to Vancleave MS to be around their sister. After returning to New Braunfels TX, she became interested in gardening and began working with the Comal County Texas Gardening Association. At one point thirty-four volunteers began their journey and completed 50 hours of training. Jean received her Master Gardner certification. She remained a loyal master gardener and enjoyed the class committees and the positive influence they had on her. She said, “You are smart, you were fun, we worked hard and are now master gardeners”. These gardeners supply the Comal County Food Bank with £ 11,000-12,000 each year.

Since Jean was a Christian, this plaque meant a lot to her. “In a garden one is closer to the heart of God than anywhere else on earth”

Her husband Steve will be holding a celebration of life that will be announced at a later date.
