Pedro Jimeno Files for Divorce from Chantel Everett, Both File Restraining Order

Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno from The Family Chantel have parted ways as a couple. According to court documents, Pedro filed for a divorce from his wife on May 27th. On the same day, a mutual restraining order was also filed.

Their marriage has been publicly deteriorating on the TLC reality series. The series The Family Chantel is a spin-off of the 90 Day Fiancé show. It follows a single couple and their journey together. The show has been mainly focused on the couple’s disputes and marriage troubles since it premiered in June.

What Happened Between Chantel Everett & Pedro Jimeno?

Since the new season premiered, the problems between Everett and Jimeno have been evident. The two of them have been in several screaming matches. Apart from that, the couple has been open about their suspicions and opinions of one another.

While Jimeno had accused Everett of being lazy and selfish, Everett had concerns about Jimeno’s close friendships with female colleagues. The couple has been married for five years yet Everett feels that Jimeno is losing interest and does not care to check up on her.

Jimeno is seen choosing to spend time with his colleagues rather than going home to his wife. About the allegations of not including his wife, Jimeno said “Most of the time, I invite her [and] she say the same thing all the time, ‘I don’t like them, I don’t like spending time with them’.

However, Everett seemed to disagree with the statement and posted a story with “liar” written on it as the scene played in the background.

Support For Everett

Even the couple realized that staying together might not be the best decision for them. In a teaser, the couple was seen discussing a possible separation. This led fans to wonder whether the couple was together or not.

The rumors of separation grew rife when fans noticed Everett was not wearing her wedding ring in Instagram pictures anymore.

Everett had also posted and then deleted a story of delectable dinner with the caption “Cooking after a 12 hour shift at the hospital for a man who doesn’t come home”. This led fans to side with Everett, she responded to one of the comments with how she never noticed that he had stopped liking her pictures over one and a half years ago.

Is It Fake?

Many people have wondered whether all of this is fake and done for views. This is because fans found out that Jimeno song about being shocked that he had half-siblings when old pictures of him with them resurfaced online.

Drama in reality shows is often overplayed to give shock value and grab the audience’s attention. Although many suspected that to be the case, the conflict between Everett and Jimeno seems to be real.

It is unclear what really happened between the two of them that led to filing for restraining orders and divorce. Fans will most likely get to know the truth in the upcoming episodes. New episodes of The Chantel Family air on TLC 8 PM ET/PT on Mondays.
