Paul Everett Peirsel Obituary (1947 – 2021) – Meadville, PA

Dr. Paul Everett Peirsel, MD, 74, of Meadville died in the Wesbury United Methodist Community on Tuesday, August 31, 2021.
He was born on April 9, 1947 in Detroit, MI, to Kenneth and Bonnie Foster Peirsel. He married Charlotte K. “Charlie” Crider on September 29, 1978, and she preceded him on March 7, 2021.
He was a graduate of Cass Tech High School for the Gifted and Talented, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan Medical School, where he was 3rd. He served as an assistant at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, helping build Twin Lakes Drug and Alcohol Treatment Center in Somerset, PA. In 1995 he moved to Meadville, where he helped set up the wound care clinic at Meadville Medical Center.
He was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church and a past member of the Meadville Rotary Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sailing.
Survivors include: five children, Wendy Chavez (Randy) from Dallas, TX, April Kretchman (Tim) from Meyersdale, PA, Matthew Peirsel from Phoenixville, PA, Mark Peirsel (Melanie) from Meadville, and Luke Peirsel (Dana) from Pittsburgh ; twelve grandchildren, Chantelle Ankeny (Joshua), Noah Ansell, Conner Chavez, Carter Chavez, Emily Sayler, Tim Kretchman, Joshua Kretchman, Elizabeth Sayler, Sydney Peirsel, Owen Peirsel, Evelyn Peirsel, and Logan Peirsel; two great-grandchildren, Griffin Ankeny and Charlotte Rhenlee Ankeny; four siblings, William Peirsel (Laurel), Sandy Peirsel, Elizabeth Lovas (Todd) and Kenneth Peirsel, as well as nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
Office hours are Thursday, September 2, 2021, 5-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville. The funeral will take place on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville, with Rev. Dr. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor.
