Oregon and Washington Suspects Still Charged in Connection with the Jan 6th Capitol Riot | Local news

PORTLAND, Oregon (KPTV) – Thursday marks the year-long anniversary of rioters storming the steps of the U.S. Capitol as Congress began counting the electoral college’s votes. Some of these rioters are from the Pacific Northwest.

According to the federal prosecutor’s office, two men from Washington state and four from Oregon were in the Capitol on January 6, pending trial.

Thousands tore down metal barricades, climbed walls and smashed windows. More than 700 people across the country have been charged with crimes.

According to court records, Marc Anthony Bru of Vancouver, Washington, is charged with seven charges, including walking and staying in the convention gallery, parade and disrupting an official process. An affidavit said Bru had seized a police barricade to wrest it from the police.

Jeffrey Grace, also from Washington, faces four charges and is charged with entering the building through an open window. Documents also show that Grace admitted taking items that were overturned and that he decided to leave after seeing people damage Capitol property. He told investigators that on that day he was not part of any group that advocated violence.

Jeffrey Hubbard, 47, of Lincoln City climbed through a broken window. Hubbard faces four charges, including misconduct in a Capitol.

Richard Harris was charged on five counts in connection with the riot, including assault, resisting or obstruction of officials, and obstruction of formal process.

Finally, the Klein brothers of Oregon face six charges each, including conspiracy and obstruction of an official trial. Court documents state that Matthew and Jonathanpeter are members of the proud boys.

Investigators say photos showed them breaking into a door and showing Matthew with a flag to push back officers who sprayed pepper spray on him.

Five of the six have pleaded not guilty of charges against them.
