With control of Congress hanging in the balance, five-time incumbent US Senator Patty Murray debates Republican challenger Tiffany Smiley before a live audience at Gonzaga University. Before that, incumbent Democrat Steve Hobbs will debate nonpartisan Pierce County Auditor Julie Anderson to determine who will replace Republican Secretary of State Kim Wyman, who took a job in the Biden administration in the fall of 2021.
