N. Spokane home damaged in early morning fire

SPOKANE, Wash. – A North Spokane home was badly damaged in a fire early Monday morning.

Spokane Fire responded to the home on 200 block of E. Lacrosse Ave., near Patrick S. Byrne Park, at about 3:20 am

Four people managed to escape from the home, but one of them needed to be taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Firefighters say neighbors helped them escape through a small window. They were cut and needed stitches.

BREAKING NEWS: Spokane firefighters are working on an early morning house fire on N Lidgerwood and E Lacrosse Ave.

Flames are out, but road closures still in place while crews mop up and investigate.

The family living next door says they also evacuated when they saw the flames.

Their house only sustained minor damage from the fire.

The Spokane Fire Department says the home that was engulfed is a total loss and investigators are still working to determine the cause.
