Music at the Marina welcomes large crowd to Everett’s waterfront

The event is one of the largest live music performances in Everett since the pandemic began.

EVERETT, Washington – Music at the marina Thursday night drew a large crowd to Everett’s waterfront. Organizers say it is one of the largest public music events in the city since before the pandemic.

“Everyone is looking for a healthy opportunity to socialize, get some fresh air, meet and dance,” said Ryan Crowther, founder of the Everett Music Initiative.

It is estimated that over 1,000 people visited and enjoyed the food trucks, Lady A’s music, and the Everett Maker’s Market.

“It’s just nice to be out there and just get your name out there and meet people,” said Krystal Munday, artist from Silver Borders Handmade Jewelry, who had a booth at Maker’s Market.

Munday started their jewelry business online at the start of the pandemic. Now she is busy with handicrafts and farmers markets.

“Being in the breeze and sun and seeing people makes me happy,” said Munday.

As COVID-19 cases increase due to the highly contagious Delta variant, organizers say masks and social distancing have been encouraged.

The Washington State Department of Health says it hasn’t changed its masking guidelines because of the Delta variant. The state says there is no mask requirement outdoors. Masks are recommended for those who have not been vaccinated, but not required when outdoors.

Munday said she took extra precautions in her craft stall.

“I have disinfectant. I spray everything off. I have my pens clean and dirty,” Munday said.

Music in the marina takes place every Thursday in August. Performances include The Dusty 45s (August 12), Leroy Bell & His Only Friends (August 19), Eldridge Gravy & the Court Supreme (August 26).
