SPOKANE VALLEY, Washington – A suspect fired a gun at a homeowner in Spokane Valley Monday morning.

According to the Spokane Valley Police Department, MPs responded to the report that someone fired a shot around 4:30 a.m. near E Trent Ave and N University Road

The caller reported a friend to the police and a former employee showed up at his house, which also serves as his shop, and started yelling at the door.

When the man heard a gunshot, he went to the front door and saw the suspect outside holding a gun. The suspect pointed the gun at the man and yelled something before running out of the area.

The officers arrived at the scene, but could not find the suspect.

A large police presence blocked the right lane of E Trent Ave while investigations into serious crimes continued.

The investigation continues.
