Mountain View Ice Arena starts new skating academy and summer program

Vancouver, WA, June 23, 2021 – (PR.com) – Mountain View Ice Arena in Vancouver, Washington is excited to announce the formation of the Mountain View Skating Academy (MVSA) and the start of the academy’s brand new summer -Skating program just in time for summer. On the heels of the pandemic, the Mountain View Ice Arena is back in full swing with expanded options to safely get the region’s ice skaters back on the ice. The ongoing return of figure skaters has inspired the management of the rink to redesign the traditional summer ice skating model to ensure everyone has the opportunity to get back on the ice safely and efficiently for everyone.

About the MVSA summer program 2021:
MVSA’s 2021 Summer Program is in response to a request from members of the local community that the rink expand its traditional summer program to include affordable and safe summer ice skating opportunities for all ages, interests and abilities. The new summer skating program is for everyone: hockey skaters who want to improve their ice skating skills, recreational skaters who want more time on the ice, figure skaters who want to take their skills to the next level, and Adults looking for a place to skate with other adults. The program runs from June 21 to July 24 and from July 25 to August 21 (the rink will not be open on July 4). Skaters can sign up for a monthly, weekly, and daily drop plan, or combine the plans to fit their summer plans. The program packages offer numerous opportunities for local skaters to get on the ice and take part in the other courses and activities of the MVSA. The summer program offers weekly topics, courses on and off the ice, exhibitions and much more for everyone involved.

History of the MVSA:
As with many companies in and around the southwest Washington community, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020 caused significant damage to the rink’s ability to meet its annual goals as it was closed for almost 8 months. There were significant concerns about whether the rink could recover from the pressure of mandatory closings and then the extremely limited capacity rules on the ice caused by the pandemic.

To address these concerns, MVIA’s management teamed up with a select group of community members to ensure the rink continues to thrive in the local market. This team has completely redesigned the rink’s traditional ice skating programs as the traditional model could no longer do justice to the ever-changing business landscape due to the pandemic. The 2020 challenge eventually allowed MVIA rink management to restart its brand and introduce improved programs to create a direct link to the local ice skating market. The result of this revision was the start of the Mountain View Skating Academy in January 2021 and the USFS Aspire program, which of course gave out small group formats and thus enables skaters to be safely back on the ice. When the restrictions were lifted, MVSA restarted the Learn-to-Skate program to allow an additional number of skaters to get back on the ice safely. Since reopening in February 2021, they have successfully increased their registrations to over 100 skaters and the number of participants is increasing. Additionally, the MVSA welcomed their Junior Academy & Senior Academy Skaters, who welcome the aspiring hockey, figure skaters, and adult skaters. They continue to look forward to growing their team and expanding their programs to expand their reach in the community.

Order of the MVSA:
MVSA provides a fun and safe experience for ice skaters of all ages and abilities in southwest Washington and the greater Portland area.
