McDonald’s teams up with Biden administration to share vaccine information – Everett Post

(NEW YORK) – McDonald’s is partnering with the White House to promote the COVID-19 vaccines.

The fast food chain announced Tuesday that it had partnered with the Biden administration to give customers access to trusted, independent information about vaccines. The partnership is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to support communities and neighborhoods during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The initiative begins later this month and begins with an information board in Times Square. In July, both McCafé mugs and McDelivery seal stickers will promote Vaccines.gov. There, customers can get more information on how to protect themselves and others from the virus and find vaccine appointments nearby.

The new packaging and ads will feature art from the national “We Can Do This” campaign, with the campaign slogan on a map of the United States.

“We all want to protect ourselves and our loved ones and be with our communities again. McDonald’s is excited to do our part for the people we serve and provide them with simple information that can help keep them safe, “said Genna Gent, McDonald’s USA Vice President for Global Public Order and Government Relations , in a statement. “This is a team effort – it takes us all. We are proud to partner with us to provide trusted, independently verified information about COVID-19 vaccines to our customers in the nearly 14,000 communities in which we operate. “

US Health Secretary Xavier Becerra added that “to end this pandemic we must all work together.”

“It’s easy to get vaccinated. More than 150 million people have already received at least one dose of vaccine and millions more are being vaccinated every day, ”he said. “Thanks to McDonald’s, people can now get trustworthy information about vaccines when they have a cup of coffee or order a meal.”

This new business, government, and community partnership builds on McDonald’s continued efforts to keep employees and customers safe since last March.

In January, the fast food restaurant chain announced that US restaurant managers and employees and US company employees would be given up to four hours of paid time to receive the vaccine.
