Lola May Sturgeon, 80, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on July 6, 2022. She was born on July 30, 1941, in Philadelphia, Tennessee, the daughter of Garrett and Bertha Jameson (Hensley).
Lola’s joy was sewing and cooking for herself and others. She was known to be the life of the party and enjoyed making memories with her daughters, sons-in-law and all her grandchildren. She loved her time as a lifelong member of the Eagles, both in Daytona Beach and Kokomo. The amount of friends she had were too numerous to count. Lola lived in Daytona Beach, Florida, for over 20 years and loved her beach time and her obsession with dolphins.
Surviving relatives include two daughters, Julie Bottoms Brubaker (Bill) of Kokomo, Indiana, and Stacy Bottoms Deibel (Dave) of Poquoson, Virginia; grandchildren, Douglas Burkmire of Kokomo, Indiana, David Patterson (Sara) serving at USCG in Vancouver, Washington, Danielle Ivy (Aiden) of Ladson, South Carolina, Dylan Deibel of Hoboken, New Jersey, Clayton Brubaker of Kokomo, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Kale and Kinley Waltman, Oaklynn Ivy, David and Rosie Patterson. Also surviving are four sisters, Kate Thomas, Edna Roberts, Helen Wrathall, Dorothy Hinkle, all of Kokomo, Indiana; and one brother, Tommy Jameson of Loudon, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Buddy and Roy Jameson; sisters, Lucy Dowers and Mildred Nesbit.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
