Little Chute village looking for a new administrator

LITTLE CHUTE – Former village manager James Fenlon resigned this month and the village is looking for a replacement.

Fenlon declined to comment on Wednesday, saying he wanted a change in his career path. Today he is director of planning and strategic growth management at US AutoForce, a division of US Venture Inc.

Fenlon served as the village administrator for almost eight years and took up his position in September 2013.

In 2017, the village made it to the semi-finals of the City Hall Madness tournament for the most beautiful town hall in the country. The village lost 98 votes to Vancouver, Washington, a city of over 150,000 people.

More recently, Fenlon has worked to address concerns among Little Chute residents about the county landfill. Some residents reported a smell that sometimes emitted from the landfill, depending on the weather. Fenlon helped mediate the concerns between local residents and county officials.

The village is now looking for a new administrator. Salaries range from $ 94,000 to $ 127,000 plus perks, depending on the job description.

Darrell Hofland has been the interim administrator since July 5th. Hofland has 34 years of administrative experience in Grafton and Sheboygan. From 1986 to 1990 he was also the village administrator of Little Chute. He currently works for Public Administration Associates, LLC.
