During the early 1980s he met Anne Handaly. They spent the next 20 years as partners living in Maple Valley, WA until Anne’s death in 2004. In 2005, Larry returned to his hometown Everett and spent the next several years as a resident of Mobile Country Club.

His is survived by his daughters Tracey Cummings (Dan) of Soap Lake, WA; Karin Martin (Jerry) of Electric City, WA; grandchildren Cameron Kohl and Kelsey Kohl.
