‘It’ll just end up in a dumpster somewhere’ wedding dress in Spokane Valley stolen car roam | Help me Hayley

SPOKANE VALLEY, Washington – Car roaming remains a widespread crime in our area, and a local couple have learned a painful lesson that crooks will steal anything.

Last month, Callie Knutson had her wedding dress stolen straight from her car.

“It has no monetary value, it’s all feeling,” Knutson said. “I’ll get myself together just talking about it.”

The bride is devastated, but if there’s a silver lining here, it’s that she got to wear it on her wedding day late last month. However, due to COVID, some key members of the bridal shower were unable to attend. You should take photos again, which would include everyone once the COVID cases subsided.

“One of my bridesmaids contracted COVID just before the wedding,” she said. “And my little nephew (as well as) my little nephew, he’s about eight, he was our ring bearer. I’ve never seen him cry so much (when he knew he couldn’t attend the wedding.) It’s a great event for everyone. “

Not having the two at the ceremony was difficult for the couple, but their wedding went on. They were so grateful when their photographer later offered a re-shoot that everyone took part in.

“We wanted to repeat pictures in Green Bluff,” she said.

Callie put her dress in the trunk and wanted to have it cleaned for the shoot.

“The same day … I wanted to record it that day so it would be ready for pictures,” she said.

But those few hours were all it took a thief to get to them. Callie says she could have immediately seen that her car had been ransacked because it was parked right outside her Spokane Valley apartment.

“I get in and it flashes at me … trunk open,” she said. “And I knew right away I hadn’t even made it to the trunk and a wave of devastation hit me.

Callie hoped to pass the dress on one day.

“Some of our nieces said, ‘Can I wear your dress one day?

She hoped that perhaps one day a daughter across the board would consider wearing it too. All of those sweet hopes were taken right with the dress.

“I didn’t realize how special it was until it wasn’t there,” she said.

Callie filed a police report but is hopeful whoever took it or knows who took it will see this and do the right thing and return it with no questions asked. If you have information about the dress you can email Hayley and she will put you through to Callie at [email protected].
