Irvin Westby Obituary – (2021) – Everett, WA

Irv died peacefully at home on February 26, 2021 at the age of 72.

He is owned by his 54-year-old wife Linda, sister Vickie (Tom) Brandstrom, brother Richard Westby, three children Toni McCullough (Richard), Dale Westby (Angie), Erin Jantz (Dan) and seven beautiful grandchildren (Jordan Hawthorne, Ashley) survived Hawthorne, Sara Westby salesman, Wyatt Hawthorne, Lindsey Jantz, Taylor Westby, Larissa Jantz).

Irv grew up on a dairy farm in Arlington, Lakewood and graduated from Arlington High School. He wore many hats in his working life. He was a diesel mechanic, machine operator, lumberjack / log truck driver and well drill. In his later years he raised alfalfa and oats on his farm in Wauconda, Washington. Irv worked hard and played harder. In his youth he drove go-carts with his father Roy. He drove sprint cars for years and was regularly present at the Skagit Speedway. Whether it’s a car, a bicycle, a snowmobile or his Cessna 182 – for him it was about driving fast.

Unfortunately, even his death was quick. He lost his life to glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain tumor. The family has requested that reminders of glioblastoma research go to the Neurological Research Foundation, Attn: David Baskin, MDFACS, 1656 North Blvd., Houston, TX, 77006. All donations are matched dollar for dollar.
