In August these cars, trucks sold the fastest in Seattle

As the microchip shortage continues to affect sales of new and used cars in Seattle, a new report from iSeeCars examined which cars and trucks were in the highest demand in August.

To determine the fastest selling cars, iSeeCars analyzed 900,000 new and used car sales in Seattle. Overall, the investigation has shown that a new car currently takes an average of 26 days to sell. New cars are also selling a week faster than in July, when the average sales time was 35 days. Used cars are currently sold in 34.6 days, a little faster than in July.

“The microchip shortage shows no signs of slowing down as major automakers continue to shut down production, resulting in lower and sometimes scarce inventory levels, especially for the most in-demand vehicles,” said iSeeCars Executive Analyst Karl Brauer. “It looks like car buyers who initially waited for prices to fall have embraced the reality that inventory shortages will persist for at least the next few months.”

Nationally, the fastest-selling new car in August was the Hyundai Santa Cruz pickup truck, which left lots in an average of 8 days. For the third month in a row, the Tesla Model 3 was the fastest-selling used car with an average of 16.9 days.
